Join us for The Spirit of Cinema: Miracles and Wonder in Biblical Epics art exhibition at Manresa Gallery, JST-SCU through the spring semester, with a joint exhibition at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology on Vine Street: The Spirit of Cinema: Illuminating the Journey of Faith.
This exhibition of film posters from the early days of cinema to today explores ways in which Biblical epics can illuminate the journey of faith for pilgrims courageous enough to enter the world of their imagination. As Benedict XVI observed, “To go on pilgrimage really means to step out of ourselves in order to encounter God” (“Apostolic Journey to Compostela,” 2010). The exhibition is a shared endeavor between the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology and JST-SCU. As such, it represents decades of ongoing collaboration that is the hallmark of the Graduate Theological Union. |
